Diana is perhaps one of the wedding dress designs that best represents the creative style of its designer, in which enhancing the wearer’s presence and maximising the visual impact by flattering the female figure is an essential feature, whilst the uniqueness of its carefully studied cut takes a back seat.

A key feature of this asymmetrical design is its bias-cut construction, which eliminates unsightly side seams – a legacy of the principles of men’s tailoring that inspired the development of the current pattern-making techniques.

The fit hugs the body at the top – shoulders and bust – sensually skims the waist and hip lines, and flares out towards the hem. All this is achieved through side seams on the front that run across the bust and converge at the centre of the lower back in a ‘V’ shape.

The fabric chosen is a heavyweight satin-finish silk crepe in ivory.
